Anxiety Management
for Children and Preteens
Making the decision to bring your child to a therapist can be difficult and stressful. My job is to help the process be as comfortable and productive as possible. Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a style of therapy emphasizing strategies and tools that once learned and practiced can very quickly reduce a child's anxiety symptoms.
I earned a B.A. in Psychology from Davidson College, and a M.Ed. and Ph.D. in Clinical and School Psychology from the University of Virginia. I have worked in Community Mental Health in Alexandria, VA, as a school psychologist in the Fairfax County School System, and as a clinical psychologist in private practice in Virginia before moving to Charlotte in 2004. In 2004, I joined Southeast Psych and practiced there for 11 years before starting my current private practice in January 2016. I am a licensed psychologist in the State of North Carolina.
In addition to private practice, I enjoy spending time with my two children and my husband. We stay busy running around to different activities and also enjoy traveling, hiking and riding our bikes. When I'm not busy with family activities, I enjoy running, reading, and making music.
